Metro Bank colleague Lee Green decided to take a starring role behind the scenes for his latest volunteering effort, spending his Day to Amaze with Tockwith Players – a local community entertainment group known for their plays, murder mysteries, and musical events. Though Lee has no aspirations for the stage, he jumped at the chance to help when he heard the group needed volunteers for their latest pantomime.

Metro Bank colleague, Jay Woodbridge living in Kent has taken on a powerful challenge this November to support men’s health. Alongside his football team, Jay is participating in the annual Movember campaign, with a goal to walk 60 kilometres in Kent to raise awareness and funds for men’s health initiatives. Each kilometre represents one of the 60 men lost to suicide every hour around the world – a cause deeply personal to Jay.

Sumon offered valuable insights on tax advice, business planning, and explored ways banks and accountants can work together to benefit local businesses. The event drew around twenty-five attendees, eager to learn about Metro Bank’s unique offerings and how the Bank distinguishes itself through tailored support for businesses of all sizes.

On October 31st, forty Metro Bank colleagues from various teams came together to participate in this year’s London Poppy Day, helping to raise over £38,000 at Euston and St Pancras stations for the Royal British Legion. Colleagues manned stalls at both stations in London, selling poppies and other commemorative items, such as brooches, to support the fundraising efforts.
Throughout October, Metro Bank colleagues came together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raising an impressive £1381 for the Breast Cancer Now charity. Colleagues participated in the charity’s Wear It Pink initiative, proudly donning pink on the official breast cancer awareness day and continuing to show their support throughout the month.
