The students showed great interest, asking many questions about career opportunities in the banking sector. Simran and Rahima shared their personal career journeys, offering real world examples of how they progressed in the industry. They also introduced the students to apprenticeship and career pathways available at Metro Bank after GCSEs, highlighting the importance of both academic and practical skills.

In addition to discussing their own experiences, Simran and Rahima supported students in identifying the skills, qualifications and attributes that employers seek, giving the students a broader understanding of the career options available to them and pathways they may want to consider.

“We were thrilled to see how engaged and enthusiastic the students were,” says Simran Kaur, Birmingham Metro Bank Assistant Store Manager. “It’s always a privilege to help guide young people as they explore future career opportunities.”

Rahima Talukdar, Birmingham Metro Bank Customer Service Representative added: “Helping students discover different career paths was incredibly rewarding. We hope our stories and advice inspire them to pursue their ambition with confidence.”
