Metro Bank Colleagues Help Host a Charity Night of Live Music
On Saturday 4th September, Canterbury Metro Bank colleagues joined Strode Park Foundation volunteers to help stage the Theatre in the Park live country music event organized for people with disabilities.
The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Canterbury’s Metro Bank colleagues chose to use their Day to Amaze by volunteering for Theatre in the Park.
Metro Bank colleagues including Debbie Valk, Sam Hilton, Melanie Sewell, Bilynana Brazier, Rebecca Aseernathan, Jason Down, Kaye Johnson and Rebecca Westacott, played a vital role by preparing and setting up the event, selling raffle tickets to participants, running the bar throughout the night and helping in tidying up the area after the event was over.
“As a community bank, we are very proud to be part of this musical event,” explains Debbie Valk, Canterbury Metro Bank’s store manager. “Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event a success. We are pleased to have been able to support raise about £3000 which will make a real difference in the lives of people living with disabilities.”
Metro Bank’s Canterbury store is located at 2 St George's St, Canterbury CT1 2SR. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 08:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm
