Eastbourne Metro Bank will be honouring Armed Forces Week (June 19 – 25) by hosting The Blue Van Drop In charity in its Terminus Road store.
The Blue Van Drop In will be fundraising in store and providing more information about the vital work they do to support local veterans by providing practical, local help at the point of need. The charity has also developed a VACC projects team. This is where veteran volunteers using their skills and expertise to undertake works for communities, charities and organisations. They supply materials, we supply the grunt (and groans of old bones). The charity’s largest task was the refurbished of the assault course at Parkwood Scout camp as it had fallen into disrepair.
“As a community bank and having been recognised by the Ministry of Defence as a Gold Employer Recognition Scheme for our support of veterans and the Armed Forces, we are delighted to be able to support this fantastic local charity ,” explains Eastbourne Metro Bank Local Director, Tom Meggison. “Everyone is welcome to pop into the store to show their support for our Armed Forces and learn more about Blue Van Drop In.”
