From Risk to Rescue

Metro Bank Colleague Throws a Bone to Last Chance Animal Rescue Centre

The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Jay Woodbridge, Metro Bank’s Incident Manager from the Risk team, recently volunteered at Last Chance Animal Rescue Centre in Edenbridge, Kent.

Last Chance Animal Rescue Centre provides vital medical care, food, and shelter to animals in need, has truly become a lifeline, especially as demand skyrocketed in the wake of Covid-19 and the cost-of-living crisis.

Jay wasn’t just pawsing for thought – he rolled up his sleeves to give the rescue’s four legged residents some well-deserved TLC. From walking some truly pawsome dogs to handing out goodies and cleaning out food bowls and litter trays, no task was too ruff for Jay.

“The team at Last Chance do an incredible job providing fur-ever homes to animals who have been through the worst, and it was rewarding to lend a paw,” says Jay Woodbridge, Metro Bank’s Incident Manager, Operational Resilience and Risk. “It’s heartbreaking that some of these dogs are awaiting destruction, but the centre gives them a real shot at a new leash on life.”
