The UK’s best community bank, Metro Bank gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Colleagues from Metro Bank’s Kingston store chose to use their Days to Amaze as volunteers at Voices of Hope which is feeding local families in need.
Voices of Hope was established to help restore and rebuild hope in individuals, improving physical and mental health through community-based projects. Voice of Hope has teamed up with the Council, Achieving for Children and local charities to help families all across Kingston and Richmond to cook healthy, delicious, simple recipes.
“Every week Voices of Hope supports 200 families in need and it was a pleasure for us to help out and be part of such a strong community initiative,” explained store manager
Niki Sidiropoulou. “We helped build the Baking Brite boxes which include all the ingredients to bake homemade family treats – these boxes are sent every month in addition to the weekly boxes.
Every week families each receive a Family Meal Brite Box. Weekly boxes contain all the ingredients and a printed recipe guide along with photographs to illustrate how to cook a healthy dinner together as a family.
Metro Bank’s Kingston’s store can be found at 64-66 Clarence Street, Kingston, KT1 1NP.
The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm.
