Metro Bank recently welcomed its local Beavers Scouts group to its Aylesbury store for an immersive session aimed at enhancing financial literacy among young children.
Money Zone is a series of financial education lessons that Metro Bank offers to children - either virtually or in store. Money Zone comprises of four sessions - budgeting, saving, banking and the last session which takes place in store gave the students a behind the scenes look at the Bank including a visit to the vault and the chance to try the coin counting Magic Money Machine. Metro Bank has delivered its Money Zone programme to over 250,000 children in 2,900 schools.
During the visit, the Beavers Scouts had the opportunity to explore fundamental money management through the innovative Money Zone programme. Led by experienced bank colleague, Andy Lane, the session highlighted key principles of budgeting, saving, and responsible spending in a dynamic and interactive setting.
One of the highlights of the event was the introduction of the bank’s Magic Money Machine, where the beavers experienced the excitement of coin counting and learned about the value of saving money. Additionally, they were thrilled to witness the card printing process, gaining insights into the technology behind these services.
A special moment for the young visitors was the exploration of the bank’s vault, where they discovered lollipops hidden among the treasures. This hands-on experience not only sparked their curiosity but also emphasized the importance of security and trust in banking operations,
