The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, welcomed The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Gail Smith at its Fargate store this week.
Hosted by Metro Bank local director, Michelle Slater, the Lord Mayor enjoyed a tour of the bank. She chatted with the Bank’s colleagues, who have worked throughout the pandemic to offer essential banking services and as a fellow dog lover, she commented on the Bank’s dog friendly water bowls, treats and complimentary bandanas available in store.
“As a community bank, we are an integral service to local residents and businesses,” explains Sheffield Metro Bank’s local director, Michelle Slater. “It was lovely to be able to showcase the work we do for the local community with the Lord Mayor. Hosted by myself and some of my team, the Lord Mayor enjoyed a store tour including our fabulous safe deposit vault. She admired our motto of People People Banking and enjoyed a cup of tea and a biscuit as she chatted with my colleagues who have worked throughout the pandemic to help local people and businesses with their banking needs. It was lovely to be able to showcase the work we do for the local community such as supporting the Sheffield Bears trail as she met Sophie Coburn who explained the trail and the fundraising for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.”
Metro Bank’s Sheffield store can be found at 58-64 Fargate, Sheffield, S1 2HE. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 08:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm
