Metro Bank, Britain's revolutionary high street retail bank, has appointed Danielle Harmer to the newly created role of HR Director. Danielle will be responsible for leading Metro Bank’s HR team, with responsibility for staffing, recruitment and development training. Danielle joins the bank on May 18th, and will report into Chief Executive Craig Donaldson.
Metro Bank was the first high street bank to be authorised by the FSA in over 100 years and launched in July 2010. Danielle joins at an important time of rapid expansion for the brand, which plans to have 200 stores nationwide by 2020. Metro Bank currently employs 450 staff in store and at its Holborn head office in customer service, contact centre, administrative and managerial roles. Strong growth plans mean that it plans to employ some 700 staff by the end of 2012.
Danielle has a very strong background in senior human resources roles for banking organisations. Her most recent role was HR Director at Barclays Bank, and she previously held positions as HR Director for Lloyds TSB, Bank of Scotland & Halifax Community Banks.
