On Sunday 1 October, the UK’s community bank, Metro Bank will once again host the elderly by celebrating Silver Sunday. Silver Sunday is the national day for celebrating older people in the community by organizing fun and free activities to entertain them.
This annual event is going to provide a chance to meet new people, try new activities and connect with new people in the local community.
To mark this special event, 19 Metro Bank stores across England have planned a range of activities and fun games in store for people of all ages. From Borehamwood to Brighton stores will offer refreshments including tea, coffee and sweet treats throughout the event and some colleagues will also visit local retirement homes to meet and chat with the residents.
“As a community bank, we are longstanding supporters of Silver Sunday,” explains Emma Sutton, Head of Events, Metro Bank: “This Sunday our colleagues will either be hosting events in store or visiting local retirement homes to chat to the residents. We are known for our people-people banking and understand the importance of being able to talk to someone face to face. We look forward to welcoming everyone who wants to come along to our participating stores and enjoy some company over a cuppa.”
