Craig Donaldson, CEO of Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, was awarded ‘Retail Banker of the Year’ at the RBI Annual Global Awards 2017.
Now in their 36th year, the event recognises and celebrates outstanding organisations within retail banking, which have delivered excellence throughout the year, with the ‘Retail Banker of the Year’ award celebrating the individual who has excelled the most.
Vernon Hill, Founder and Chairman at Metro Bank commented: “I am delighted that Craig has been recognised by Retail Banker International. This prestigious award is not only testament to his leadership, service and vision, but also shows the tremendous strength and success in our model of creating FANS not customers.
“As more and more customers and businesses join the banking revolution, I am delighted that not only is our brand awareness at a record high of 84%1 across London, but we’re receiving such accolades that reflect our global standing.”
As one of the originals of Metro Bank, Craig has been instrumental to the bank from day one; from defining the bank’s ethos, to appointing its first colleagues, Metro Bank is now a multi-billion pound growth retailer, has created over 2,800 careers, more than a million customer accounts and 48 seven-day-a-week stores.
