The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Colleagues from Metro Bank’s Guildford based asset finance team braved the winter weather to play in the Simply Asset Finance 5-a-side charity football tournament – helping to raise over £7,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Metro Bank colleagues Cherrice Baffana, Chloe White, Alex Wilson, Kieran Billington, Luke Hadley, Glenn McQuilken, Robert Green took on teams from across the industry including Aldermore, Shawbrook and Hampshire Trust banks.
“Our amazing Cherrice Baffana got us off to a flying start with a hat trick in the first game which which we ended up winning 6-0” commented Head of In Life Operations Scott Belchamber. “With a couple of losses and another win, they were through to the next round. The cold temperatures and Aldermore Bank finally got the better of us, but we are really proud of everyone – well done team."
