Metro Bank’s Local Director, John Lloyd-Jones has been recognised in King Charles’ Birthday Honours as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
The MBE is awarded for outstanding achievement or service in the community which has delivered sustained and real impact and stands out as an example to others.
John, a farmer’s son from Llanddewi Brefi, west Wales, started his career at Ceredigion District Council in 1984 and then joined the HSBC graduate course in London. John returned to Cardiff in 2002 as Head of Business Development and Marketing for Wales, South West England and Northen Ireland. He has been an active advocate for his local community – his years of service include supporting The Prince’s Trust, NSPCC, The Wales Millennium Stadium Trust, The Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales, Council for Wales of Voluntary Youth Services and the Wales Millennium Centre.
The King's Birthday Honours mark the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK. The King's Birthday Honours list recognises the achievements and service of people across the UK, from all walks of life. The process begins with nominations to be considered by the APH Cabinet Committee comprising a group of Ministers chaired by the Prime Minister. The formal responsibility for making recommendations to The King for the grant of honours rests with the Prime Minister.
