Metro Bank Raise Over £2000 for Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline

4th July 2021

St Albans’ colleagues from Metro Bank, the UK’s community bank, have just raised £2026 for the Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline by participating in the Big Fat Charity Quiz.

The Metro Bank quiz team dubbed Team Saints comprised Laura Elliot, Charlene McCord, Jeriel Crossman, Andrew Shaw, Len Radley and Sam Mathur.

“We loved the quiz evening even if we didn’t come close to winning”, explains assistant store manager Caroline Browell. “A massive thank you to everyone supported us to raise money for such a good cause.”

Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline is a confidential, free, support and signposting service for anyone affected by domestic abuse which is sadly very common. Research shows that it can affect one in four women and one in six men in their lifetimes, regardless of age, social class, race, disability or lifestyle. Two women and one man are killed each week as a result of domestic abuse.

Metro Bank’s St Alban’s store can be found at 77 St Peter's Street, St Albans, AL1 3ED.

The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 08:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
