Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, has been named ‘Financial Services Company of the Year’ at the second annual London Evening Standard Business Awards, after beating competition from the likes of Virgin Money, First Direct and JP Morgan to win the prized-title.
The awards recognise companies that have stood out for achieving high standards and excellence in the past year, with Metro Bank commended for its growth in customer accounts and reaching profitability.
Craig Donaldson, CEO of Metro Bank commented on the award: “I’m genuinely delighted for all our customers and colleagues to be recognised by the Evening Standard through this award. Our vision has always been to provide customers with an unrivalled banking experience across whichever channel they choose and this award is testament to the power of our growth model and our commitment to providing simply great service.
“We’ve proved in less than seven years just what can be achieved and I look forward to continuing to challenge, continuing to disrupt and continuing to create FANS with our Banking Revolution.”
Metro Bank recently walked away with four awards at the Moneywise Customer Service Awards 2017 including being named the UK’s ‘Most Trusted Financial Provider’ for the second consecutive year. And the bank was also crowned ‘Bank of the Year’ at the CityAM awards 2016.
