Metro Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community by signing the Ministry of Defence’s Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant is a pledge that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, will be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
Metro Bank currently holds a gold award from the Ministry of Defence as part of its Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising the bank’s work supporting the Armed Forces community.
Metro Bank is proud to support the Armed Forces, with a number of former service personnel working across the organisation.
To mark the signing, Metro Bank hosted a celebration event at the Bank’s headquarters.
Carol Frost, Chief People Officer at Metro Bank, said of the signing: “Metro Bank has a track record of supporting serving and former Armed Forces personnel and their families. We are delighted to reaffirm our continued support as a Forces-friendly business with the re-signing of the Covenant.”
Simon Webb, Head of Operational Resilience at Metro Bank and RAF veteran, added: “Metro Bank re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant means a lot, on a personal and professional level. Since we first committed to the covenant in 2019, we have endeavoured to seek ways in which we can support veterans and their families in finding roles with Metro Bank and working to make our products and customer experience as easy as possible for the military community. Veterans each bring a wealth of transferable skills and experience to make Metro Bank a more inclusive and productive workplace.”
