Teams of Year 4 students will compete from primary schools across Eastbourne in the 10th annual Junior Enterprise Challenge on 4th October. The event is organised by Eastbourne Education Business Partnership in association with Chamber of Commerce and supported by local businesses including community bank Metro Bank which is donating book tokens and a goodie bag for the winning team.
The teams will be set a business challenge involving either a product or service that they will need to create and promote.
“Our nation’s business employers are predominantly small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and this competition reflects their entrepreneurial spirit with a business challenge that tests the students’ team working, creativity, time management and communication skills - everything SMEs of the future will need,” explains Tom Meggison, Eastbourne Metro Bank’s local director. “As a community bank, we work closely with many of Eastbourne’s local businesses and we are so proud to be supporting this challenge which gives us a reassuring insight into tomorrow’s business champions.”
