Following the recent announcement that it will become the first ever Champion of Women’s and Girls’ Cricket, Metro Bank and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announce that Metro Bank will become Official Title Partner for One Day Cricket.
This opportunity will see the Bank become title partner of the Metro Bank One Day Internationals, for both women and men, starting in September 2023. The Bank will also be the title partner for the domestic Women’s and Men’ One Day competitions – The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy presented by Metro Bank, and the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
“We are excited by this extension to our partnership with the ECB, as it provides us with an enhanced platform to drive our agenda as the Champion of Women’s & Girls’ cricket,” said Danielle Lee, Director of Brand and Marketing at Metro Bank. “We are committed to breaking down boundaries and creating supportive and inclusive spaces to enable more women and girls to thrive within their local communities. This additional partnership will allow us to make a bigger impact, more quickly.”
“Metro Bank has already shown its commitment to growing the game as our first Champion of Women’s and Girls’ Cricket, and it’s great to see them deepening the partnership,” said England Women’s Captain, Heather Knight. “With their support we want to inspire more fans to watch and more kids to pick up a bat and ball and get involved in the game themselves.”
“It’s great that Metro Bank is extending its partnership with English cricket,” commented England Men’s white ball captain, Jos Butler. “With the ICC World Cup just a few months away, there’s no better time to be coming on board, and I can’t wait to step up our 50-over preparations with the series against New Zealand and Ireland in September.”
