Bromley Metro Bank’s Laura Spencer fundraises for Parkinson’s UK
Bromley Metro Bank’s has a keen group of runners, but none more so than customer service representative Laura Spencer who has just taken on the London Color Obstacle Rush to raise over £300 for Parkinson’s UK.
The London Color Obstacle Rush is a 5k run with a twist as it also involves 20 inflatable obstacles and six colour zones where colour powder is thrown. Laura was inspired to take part as her aunt suffers from Parkinson’s. “Over the last year my aunt has been in and out of hospital and life is becoming a real struggle explains Laura. “ I’m doing this event for her and hope that the money raised will be able to help her and everyone that suffers from this horrible condition. I have been blown away by the support given to me so far and by the level of support provided by my colleagues not just in my store but from across the bank.”
Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. In the UK, around 145,000 people are already living with Parkinson’s and every hour, 1 in 37 people alive today will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime.
Laura has already raised over £300 but if you want to sponsor her please visit her Just Giving page.
