Sheffield Metro Bank is partnering with law firm, Bhayani HR & Employment Law and sister company Bhayani Recruitment to host an event exploring the role of banter in the workplace on Tuesday April 25th from 5.30-7pm at its Fargate store.
The complimentary event is open to all and attendees will be able to gain valuable advice and information from employment and HR professionals in a relaxed format, as well as network and share experiences.
Every workplace enjoys banter but where should the line be drawn between what is a bit of fun and what could be classed as bullying, harassment, or discrimination. Times are changing and what was acceptable in previous years is either not acceptable now or will not be tolerated going forward. Employers need not only an understanding of the law around discrimination but also need to focus on whether the banter in their workplace is having a negative impact on their culture.
During the interactive session the presenters will explore what is and what is not acceptable banter, when an employer should step in and what action they should take and finally what are the risks if an employer gets it wrong.
“This is a must attend event for local business owners,” commented Jav Khan, Local Director, Sheffield Metro Bank. “We want to help everyone navigate what is OK for today’s workplace in a relaxed and informative environment, where everyone can share their experiences and learn from the experts.’
Places are limited at this complimentary event, so booking here is recommended.
