Tembo Joins Harrow Metro Bank to Boost Visitors to Town Centre
Metro Bank’s Harrow store will host a baby elephant in store this week (half term) as the community bank is participating in a BID initiative – Harrow’s Animal Trail.
“We have nicknamed our baby elephant Tembo which is African-Swahili for elephant” explains Harrow Metro Bank local director, Adam Durrant.
During half term week, Harrow’s BID team has created a local animal trail for children to follow. Kids need to spot nine animals hidden in local businesses in and around the town centre. Once they find the animal, there will be a letter nearby and local children need to collect all nine letters to create a word and enter with the chance to win £50.
“This is a great initiative to help encourage people back to the town centre,” explains Harrow Metro Bank local director, Adam Durrant. “We have been open throughout the pandemic and we can definitely see more people out and about as lockdown is lifting, but we are happy to participate in any initiative that encourages local residents to make more use of our town centre.”
Tembo will be in store from May 31st – June 6th.
