Metro Bank Credit Risk Team Raises Over £1000 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

The UK’s community bank, Metro Bank, gives every colleague a Day to Amaze – essentially a paid day off to support a local charity or good cause. Banking on goodwill, Metro Bank’s Credit Risk Team has recently completed their Day to Amaze with a step in the right direction – walking the entire length of London’s Victoria Line to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer center. In recent years, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has raised millions to support cancer with over 1500 clinical trials conducted annually.

The 30-kilometer trek began at Walthamstow Central and concluded in Brixton, with the team clocking in from 9am to 5pm. By the end of the day, they had travelled through 16 stations, countless steps, and one unbreakable resolve to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

In a journey that has tested their soles and souls, the team’s commitment has already yielded over £1000 in donations. Each pound raised will go directly to funding ground-breaking research and life-saving treatments.

“This walk wasn’t just about getting from point A to point B – it was about making strides for a cause that’s close to our hearts,” said Metro Bank’s Head of Retail Credit Risk, Julie Berryman. “We might have felt a few blisters but knowing that our effort contributes to the incredible work at The Royal Marsden made every step worth it.”

With their Day to Amaze in the books, the Credit Risk Team is still collecting donations and encouraging others to support their mission. For those who wish to contribute or learn more about the charity, please click here.
